JFL, AIC v USCIS, DHS (Vetting Immigration Benefit Applicants FOIA)

On March 27, 2026  Just Futures Law and the American Immigration Council filed a case under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to compel the Department of Homeland Security  and U.S Citizen and Immigration Services to  produce documents related to new USCIS procedures for vetting immigration benefit applicants, in which they are flagging undefined “Anti-American” and “Anti-Semitic” activity. These new procedures have created significant uncertainty and have had a chilling effect on the exercise of protected First Amendment activity.
